Unit 2 – Code is Poetry: An introduction to programming languages and logic ADVANCED

In this unit, you will be exploring a Processing, a programming language focused on the visual arts. This video provides an introduction.

Here is the work:

Processing Project

Processing is a programming language that To do this project, you will work with software called Twine, which is designed to let you build interactive stories. You will work through a tutorial and then create your own piece of visual art.

1. Get Processing. Download and install Processing on your computer.

2. Tutorial. Work through this terrific tutorial. It will give you a wide range of experiences with Processing, including interactive graphics and animations. You can find other resources here.

3. Create your own project. Once you have worked through the sample, you will design and program your own project in Processing. You are free to be as crazy and creative as you would like.

4. Share your project. Once your project is ready, you will upload it to Pace Commons so that others can marvel at your skills. You should upload both the code and the output. Use the tag: #codeispoetry

5. Share your experience. When you post the link to your game, include a link to the Language Log for this experience. For this reflection, take the point of view of a language learner, since I would imagine that none of you are familiar with this coding language. Use the tag: #codeispoetry

This work is due no later than Friday March 15th.
