Skyler - these are great visualizations and great analysis and charts of the data you collected. I especially am impressed with your investigation of the two counties - Westchester and Erie.

One thing I noticed, however, is that you did not differentiate your analysis for the type of test. For example, in one spreadsheet you were filtering for certain raw scores, but did not separate the results by test (ELA vs. Math) or by grade. Thus, the data that you're analyzing does not correlate, because there should not be a relationship between a 4th grade ELA test score and a 6th Grade Math test score. Unless you're certain to be analyzing the same student's results, in which case you could make a case for aptitude/achievement for that particular student.

(This is not, in any way, a criticism of your work, by the way. I am particularly jaded towards these data sets from NYS and find there is really no correlation between these raw scores, mean scores, and the actual abilities of our children. But I will step off my soapbox now....)

I am very impressed with the work you have done on this project.

You have told a very compelling story and have told it very well (or allowed the data to tell it very well, depending upon your perspective).

I was intrigued by the value to the students that you represented. It would be very interesting to dig deeper into the public school/charter school differences to see which model is valuable for which students under which circumstances.

            Hi Skyler,

What I've noticed about your work is that you always capitalize on the process by going in such depth about how you achieved each step in your creations. I am a newbie to the world of computer science and I really appreciate the attention to detail! :) It makes a huge difference.
