Elementary School Science Memories

Like many elementary schools, mine had a yearly science fair from 4th to 6th grade. The best projects are selected to be displayed for science fair night, and I always wanted to be one of those students. My last year, I was very determined to make it. Before the “judging”, the students present their projects infront of their class. When it was my turn, I was very confident that I did the best I could.

Before I even began my presentation, my 6th grade teacher told me “Your board is lovely, but you spelt the first word wrong.” At that moment, I thought back to my hopes of being selected and told myself, “Nevermind.”

This is my favorite science memory because I can look back at it and laugh, I haven’t changed much.

This is a really interesting story. I think it is a good reminder that teachers have a very large impact on students, and that impact can be positive or negative.
