Unit 4 Week 3 & 4

For my dance off I had my robot perform a couple of cool moves with "light shows" in between to the song "Never Gonna Give You Up". My younger brother who is in 5th grade became intrigued by my robot and he actually decided on the song that it would dance too. I was a bit surprised by how long it took me to create a code for the robot to run for two whole minutes. I had to think of when my robot would be moving a certain way during the song and try to code that the best that I could. For dealer choice, I chose to create an alarm clock with the mBot. Once the light sensor goes above 500, the mBot would beep- like an alarm. Then when you put your hand over the top of the bot, like an alarm clock, the sound will stop and turn on a light instead. Just a side note- I thought it was funny how much more my brother liked the alarm clock than the dance that my robot had done. I'm not sure if you can hear him in the video but he actually started to direct me while I was coding, so when the robot ran the code he was so excited to see it be an alarm clock.

I loved the project but really enjoyed your telling your brother what to do.

Does that mean that the mBot wakes you up each morning?

        Professor Ardito,

This really was a fun unit to work through, my brother even stole my robot once I was done with the unit. Luckily, I am able to escape the mBot alarm clock in the morning but my mom is definitely not as lucky haha.
